INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

I highly value the integrity of the therapy space and strive to provide a safe, supportive, confidential, and open environment for you to just BE you. I am skilled in a variety of therapeutic modalities and approach the therapy process with the upmost regard to you as an unique individual and your experiences, and undertake an integrative conceptualization of treatments. We will work towards understanding your core self, self-development and growth, and focus on facets of your life that you value and find importance in, with the addition of discovering and addressing content that presents itself within the therapy process as you go along. This time is dedicated just to you, for you. In the therapy space, I include who I am authentically as a person, and am compassionate, insight-oriented, incorporate a sense of humor into the work. I offer the usual and customary 50-55 minute session, and additional extended sessions, including 1.5 and 2 hour sessions. A significant number of my clients find the 50-55 minute session “too short” to delve deeper into the work.

* I offer telehealth services for California residents.

** I offer out-of-office sessions, as needed.

COUPLES THERAPY & FAMILY THERAPY

Couples

Being in a relationship is one of the most difficult yet rewarding experiences of our lifetimes. Coming together to sort through layers of history and dynamics can feel challenging. This is the space where you and your partner can learn more about yourselves, yourselves in the context of a relationship, and your partner and who they can be within the context of a relationship, in order to better understand and approach the complex issues that can occur.

*I offer telehealth sessions for couples residing in California.

Family

Addressing family dynamics can feel intensely complex. There are multiple individuals with their own perspectives, thoughts, and feelings coming together to somehow reconnect with each other with understanding and compassion as a family. The congregation of varying personalities and perspectives can evoke high emotions, specifically frustration, anger, irritability, impatience, stubbornness, but at the same time, it can also evoke feelings of love, compassion, patience, empathy, and peace. I can assist with creating an environment conducive to healing, productivity, growth, and positive connection.

*I offer telehealth sessions for families residing in California.

GROUP THERAPY

Group Therapy offers a multitude of benefits, if you so choose to fully engage in the process. Group therapy typically replicates a microcosm of a larger community and world. In the safe and confidential space of Group Therapy, one can practice, build, and master skills and understanding in an in-vivo, interpersonal setting. It also integrates the facet of genuine interconnection between group members. It is facilitated by the therapist to optimize collaborative learning and insight towards growth with an identified goal.

Qualified Medical Evaluator

A QME, short for Qualified Medical Examiner, is a doctor who is licensed by the State of California, and who is certified by the Division of Workers’ Compensation Medical Unit in his or her area of expertise. In workers’ compensation, a QME is an independent doctor who evaluates injured workers and write reports that address disability. A QME evaluation will only occur if there is a dispute over what benefits are due.

The role of a Qualified Medical Examiner is to perform an exam and provide a medical and legal report, composed of an unbiased opinion of your psychological condition and recommendations for treatment planning. Included in a psychological evaluation is an analysis of the individual’s medical records, a medical interview, a behavioral observation of the individual, and any psychological tests that the psychologist may order.  The QME report is used to help determine an injured worker’s eligibility for workers’ compensation benefits.

*Please note that the QME psychologist does not provide the actual treatment of the individual’s condition.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is usually considered an aid to psychotherapy (counseling or therapy), because the hypnotic state allows people to explore thoughts, feelings, and memories they might have hidden from their conscious minds.

In the hypnotic state, you are deeply relaxed. Your conscious mind is quieted, allowing your unconscious mind to deeply focus on your issue. You are also calmer, and therefore more receptive to facing your fear or issues.

In a hypnosis session, I will help you relax in a comfortable setting. I will explain the process and review your goals for the session. Then, I will use repetitive verbal cues to guide you into the deeply relaxed-like state. Once you’re in a receptive state, I will suggest you work to achieve certain goals, help you visualize your future, and guide you toward making healthier decisions.

It can also be used to help you gain control over undesired behaviors or to help you cope better with anxiety or pain. It's important to know that although you're more open to suggestion during hypnosis, you don't lose control over your behavior.
